KKUP 12/12/08 Set Beltaine’s Fire, Live on KKUP 91.5 fm

The first is that tomorrow, Friday December 12th at 5pm, we’ll be playing LIVE on 91.5FM, KKUP Cupertino.  KKUP is one of our favorite community radio stations and the Friday Folk Off! hosted by David Stafford is a great program showcasing some of the best live folk music in the Bay Area.  We’re hardly strictly folk, but David is very eclectic and invited us back for a second live set on the air.  Our set will last an hour and he’s got other musicians coming in before and after us, so if you’re in the South Bay tune on in!

that’s Friday, december 12th, 5-6pm; on 91.5fm KKUP Cupertino &  you can pick up the signal anywhere from Hayward to Monterrey.

The second big thing is that I’ve made a change to how our website works so when you buy a physical cd (and they make great christmas/solstice/samhein/atheists-need-presents-too-day gifts) you can download the digital version of the music for free.  The Mp3’s are super-high quality and DRM free so you can move then from your computer to your ipod to your phone to CD and back without any hassle.  The upshot of that being that if you buy either of our albums to give as a gift this holiday season you can keep the digital version for yourself.

Speaking of CD’s, we’ve got less then a hundred copies each of Liberty and Weapon of the Future left and hope to have sold them all by January.   We may or may not be doing another print run soon…. so f you DO want to get a physical cd, you should get it sooner rather then later.  Especially if you want it to arrive before Christmas.

And, of course, we’ve also got t-shirts and digital versions of Lynx & Laura’s solo albums up on the site, so if you haven’t checked those out….

The last thing is that we’ve got a free show coming up January 2nd @ the Bistro in Hayward (1001 B St, Hayward, CA 9454).    If you’re in or near the East Bay you should definately come through, we don’t do small shows like this much anymore since we’ve been focused on booking festivals and college campuses.  The Bistro is a cool little venue and a fun one to do small shows like this.  Free music, a fully stocked bar, good people, and good times. Consider it our Christmas present to you-all.

Just a quick post today to announce that our second album - Liberty - is available now in our brand new online store! The album is our first with our new lineup and the CD version features original hand-painted artwork for the covers and inside panels by ArKar, as well as Graff art by Eustinlove.  And the songs are pretty darn cool too, in my totally unbiased opinion.

You can also order CD’s of ‘Weapon of the Future”, T-Shirts, & bumper stickers.

In other news:

It’s almost time for KVMR!  We’re all practicisng and working hard to get a couple new songs ready in time and are looking forward to the event.  If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, what are you waiting for?

We’ve also started booking shows for a through central and southern California for late January.    We’re going to be focusing on college towns down the coast and are looking to set up as many on-campus gigs as possible.  More on that as it develops!  And, of course, we’re busy sending off press packs to festivals all over the west coast for next year, so if you know a good one we should apply too, hit us up!

Also - look out for a couple more music videos in the coming weeks - Humanimal did a great new video for the title track from our new album and Laura has almost finished a brand new animated video for “None of the Above”.  With a little luck we’ll have both of those ready for ya’ll before we leave for KVMR.

As for our east coast tour: with the sole exception of the Brooklyn show @ Public Assembly which was marred by frustrations with the venue (if you’re a band in or going to NYC I’d recomend NOT booking a show there) the tour was a great success.  We played a bunch of great shows at a bunch of great venues for a lot of great people.  It was awesome.  Huge shout outs to Cozy T  who went above and beyond booking all that for us and also thank-you’s to Becky, Sarah, and Deb for letting us borrow their husbands for 2 weeks, to Matt, Jeremiah,  & John for letting us crash with them,  and -  of course - to all the folks who came out to the shows, bought CD’s, and made the tour a success.   Good times!
